Policies and other “important” stuff….

Below privacy policy applies to all playground apps but 500 Coloring Pages. See here for its privacy policy. Terms of service on the other hand are applicable for all apps 🙂

One line summary is that Playground does not store, nor sell your personal information. Some third parties do access some of your data on Playground behalf for ads, crash analytics and stats purposes (Google, Amazon, Flurry ,Fabric and Facebook) – read further for more details. This personal info are things based on so called Advertising ID (which you can reset) and can be treated similar to what cookies enable in web browsers.

What I store offline are anonymized usage stats (e.g. what melodies are played most in the piano app, what are the most beloved coloring pages and what colors are being used in a coloring app etc). I use this data to improve my apps – but there is no information that can identify its source – its just a report like: “someone has selected ‘happy birthday’ in little piano”.

As for the terms of service listed below – we do what we can to make the apps as error-free as possible – yet you are on your own risk and the apps + this site is provided on “as-is” basis.

Finally – for the kids usage – all the apps should be enjoyed under direct supervision of a caregiver (i.e. parent).

More info below….

Privacy Policy:

While Playground Apps do not store any of your personal information, due to usage of external libraries (Google Ads) and the way Google Play store operates (paid apps only) you should be aware of the following.

1) Free apps (iOS, Android and Windows Phone) do use Google Ads and Facebook Ads hence you are subject to http://www.google.com/policies/and http://www.admob.com/home/privacy and http://facebook.com/privacy  – I believe you are subject to those whenever you use internet anyway 🙂

In some apps I also experiment with Amazon Mobile Ads – still, not storing the data on my end – this makes you subject to http://www.amazon.com/b/?&node=5160028011 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=468496

2) Paid apps for Android – your email address is reported within Google Sales report. It is not being downloaded or stored elsewhere. Will not be shared, sold, etc. Also, the standard Sales Report consist of your Country, City and Postal Code (one you entered when registering your phone in Google Play I believe) – this data is downloaded but discarded for Tax processing.

3) Some of my apps are also using Flurry, Google, Fabric or Facebook Analytics for usage tracking and tracking events within the game (e.g. levels achieved, images picked most often). With that – you are subject to http://www.flurry.com/privacy-policy.html or Google Analytics Privaty policy or above mentioned Facebook privacy policy (again, no worries here – it is being used by over 100 000 apps around the globe already).

4) Finally – apps I develop using Corona SDK use Corona  analytics to track app usage (no PII data). For that – check https://amplitude.com/privacy. Again – I do not download nor share that data with anyone.

For all of the above  – I do not store results offline, do not sell, distribute them – they remain in the system of record by Google, Admob, Amazon, Flurry. Fabric, Corona, Facebook or Amplitude.

Net – I believe there is no harm done to your privacy – other than by above linked policies by external parties. No offline storage outside of their services. No sale of any data.

PS. There is a smal fraction of anonymous data (I cannot track where it comes from) I use for tracking app usage (coloring page selected, colors used) that is stored offline but this piece has no personal info stored whatsoever. This is tracked so I can improve based on app usage patterns.

Terms of Service

All the apps are provided “as-is” … which can be treated as “while it seems to work well for thousands of people, you never know if it will work for you so: test it, and expect no more than what your tests results show”.

Especially – you are encouraged to try a free version prior a purchase.
